Job summary

Design & Build Recruitment is seeking an experienced Senior Safety Advisor to join a tier 2 contractor on a major civil infrastructure project in Queensland. This hands-on role focuses on collaborating with site teams to build a strong safety culture while upholding high standards across the project.

Initially, the position will involve night shifts for 4–6 months, with a potential transition to day shifts later.

Qualifications

• Civil construction HSE experience across major road and highway projects.
• Exposure to bridge construction, structural works and bulk earthworks.
• Experience managing excavation and ground stabilisation risks.
• Previous experience in a Senior Safety Advisor capacity.
• Confident communicator who can challenge behaviours and hold teams accountable.
• Comfortable working night shift and operating autonomously.
• Strong stakeholder management and practical problem-solving skills.

Job description

I am currently recruiting an experienced Senior Safety Advisor to join a tier 2 contractor on a large-scale civil infrastructure project in Queensland.

This is a great opportunity for a hands‑on Senior Safety Advisor with a strong civil construction background who enjoys working closely with site teams, building relationships and helping create a positive safety culture while maintaining high standards across the project.

The position will initially involve night-shift work for approximately 4-6 months, with the potential to transition back to days thereafter.

The project is expected to continue through to mid-2028.

About You
