Job summary

Raytheon Australia is seeking a Field Technician to deliver maintenance support for SATCOM terminals at HMAS Harman on a fixed-term basis. This role requires a Trade Certificate III/IV in Communications or Electronic Engineering and at least three years’ experience post-qualification.

You will perform on-site and off-site maintenance, configuration management, warehouse and test equipment support, ensure ITAR compliance, produce maintenance reports, and participate in a 24/7 on-call roster.

Qualifications

• Trade certificate in communications or electronic engineering.
• 3+ years relevant post-qualification experience.
• Knowledge of terrestrial or Satellite Communications Systems.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
• Eligible for NV-1 security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Provide on- and off-site maintenance services to SATCOM assets.
• Provide configuration management support to mission systems.
• Support warehouse and breakdown spares and test equipment.

We are seeking applicants who are passionate to provide exceptional maintenance support to ADF satellite communication systems on a fixed-term basis.

As a Field Technician you will provide operational maintenance support of SATCOM terminals and rack-based RF / communications equipment based at HMAS Harman. We are after a senior technician and will provide complete system specific training to enable the applicant to work independently immediately.

Key Responsibilities

• Provision of specialist on and off-site maintenance services to SATCOM SPO assets
• Provision of Configuration Management support to selected mission systems
• Provision of warehouse and supply support activities for Breakdown Spares, Repairable Items and Support and Test Equipment
• Ensure compliance with governance and ITAR obligations
• Produce routine equipment maintenance reports
• Maintain strong customer relations and participate as a rostered member of the 24 x 7 x 365 on-call team

Skills, Experience And Qualifications

• Trade Certificate III or IV in Communications or Electronic Engineering
• Senior technician will have at least three years relevant experience post-qualification
• Knowledge of and experience with terrestrial or Satellite Communications Systems
• Proficient in Microsoft office tools, especially Excel
