Job summary

Client 1 in Sydney, NSW, seeks experienced RF, electronics or communications technicians to join the Defence industry, performing maintenance, upgrades and deployment of specialised military systems for the ADF and Defence.

Opportunities across Sydney on a full-time permanent basis. Must be an Australian citizen eligible for Defence clearance and bring hands-on experience with RF, analogue/digital electronics and IT/network awareness.

Qualifications

  • Advanced Diploma in Engineering or Electronics or equivalent.
  • Technical trade in electronics.
  • IPC-A-610 or MIL-STD certification.
  • Understanding and exposure to IT and network communications.
  • Ability to read technical instructions and drawings.
  • Manual dexterity and precise motor skills.
  • Australian Citizen eligible for Defence clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Completes manufacturing, testing, tuning and integration of electronic CCA's, modules and systems following procedures.
  • Efficient and effective product testing and tuning of RF, digital and analogue circuits.
  • Accurate data collection associated with test and tune findings and solutions.
  • Provide feedback to management, engineers and peers regarding testing, processes and tools.
  • Ensure quality standards are maintained through best practice and health & safety compliance.
  • Supports root cause analysis of failed electronic components and recommends corrective actions.
  • Performs continuous improvement projects targeting waste affecting quality, cost, and schedule.

Looking to expand on your Navy career and grow within the Defence Industry?

We are seeking an experienced RF, Electronics or Communications Technicians ideally out of uniform or exposure to the Defence industry to provide critical maintenance, upgrade and deployment of specialised military communications systems and electronics for the ADF and Defence as a whole.

Opportunities across Sydney, NSW you will be a key member of the technical engineering support team on a full-time permanent basis.

Must be an Australian Citizen eligible for a Defence clearance.

Roles: Engineering Technician, Field Service Technician, Sensor Maintainer Technician, Senior Sensor Maintainer Technician, Electronics Technician

Responsibilities/duties
  • Completes manufacturing, testing, tuning and integration of electronic CCA's, modules and systems following methods, procedures, standards, and operations sequences.
  • Efficient and effective product testing and tuning comprising RF, digital and analogue circuits.
  • Accurate data collection associated with test and tune findings and solutions.
  • Provide feedback to management, engineers and peers regarding testing, processes and tools.
  • Ensure quality standards are maintained through best practice.
  • To comply with all Health and Safety legislation, policies and procedures.
  • Supports root cause analysis of failed electronic components and recommends corrective actions.
  • Performs continuous improvement projects targeting waste affecting product quality, cost, and schedule or other items of value to the business.
Technical Competencies & Requirements
  • Advanced Diploma in Engineering or Electronics
  • Technical trade in electronics or equivalent
  • IPC-A-610 or equivalent MIL-STD certification
  • Understanding and exposure to IT and network communications
  • Manual dexterity
  • Precise motor skills
  • Ability to perform work under a microscope
  • Ability to read technical instructions and drawings
  • Ability to use computers to locate and view documents
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Accuracy, thoroughness, persistence and attention to detail
  • Ability to handle small and delicate parts
  • Good time management skills
  • Australian Citizen and ITAR compliant
  • Ideally a current or reinstatable Defence security clearance
