Job summary

Gold Fields Australia is seeking a Senior Resource Geologist to join the Group Technical Geology Resource team in Perth. You will generate, maintain and review mineral inventory and Resource models, and may manage geological data and QA/QC systems.

The role offers Monday–Friday or 9-day roster options with monthly 4-day site visits; permanent, full-time, part-time or job-share options considered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Geology or related discipline with strong mathematical & statistical emphasis.
• Minimum 5 years in combined Mine, Exploration or Project Geology plus at least 5 years as a Resource Geologist in gold mining/exploration.
• Proven geological interpretation skills with ability to apply this to resource estimation.

Responsibilities

• Always act to enhance safety culture and performance and adhere to Vital Behaviours.
• Develop and implement strategies to identify and maximize new opportunities for the operation.
• Provide expert resource modeling skills and develop resource models for mines and exploration projects.
• Prepare and complete all reporting requirements with appropriate detail within timeframes.
• Maintain QA/QC and ensure data supports Resource models; comply with SAMREC, JORC and SOX standards.
• Audit and review models in peer review; contribute to improving estimation quality.
• Demonstrate understanding of the financial implications of Resource model quality on mining decisions.
