Job summary

Woods & Co Recruitment is recruiting an experienced Construction Operations Manager to lead residential construction delivery in Melbourne. You will oversee a team across multi-unit, house & land and spec home projects, driving program, cost, quality, safety and overall performance.

Reporting to senior leadership, you will shape workflows, build times and margins, coordinating with development, sales, estimating and finance to support delivery and ensure strong subcontractor management and

Qualifications

• 10+ years’ experience within residential construction.
• Demonstrated experience leading construction teams through other managers.
• Strong knowledge of volume home building and residential construction methodology.
• Experience delivering across multiple and dispersed sites.
• Strong commercial acumen across construction budgets, feasibility and margin.
• Excellent subcontractor, supplier and stakeholder management skills.
• A track record of improving build times, systems, workflows and construction efficiency.
• Strong leadership capability with the ability to coach, develop and hold teams accountable.

Responsibilities

• Lead Construction Managers, Site Managers, Supervisors and construction support teams.
• Drive delivery across multi-unit residential, house & land and spec home projects.
• Manage site starts, build times, work in progress and completions across a large portfolio.
• Manage construction budgets, cost-to-complete, variations and overall project performance.
• Drive trade capacity, subcontractor performance and procurement.
• Improve construction systems, workflows, buildability and operational efficiencies.
• Maintain strong standards across quality, safety, compliance and customer outcomes.
• Work closely with internal development, sales, estimating, drafting and finance teams to support delivery.
