Job description

An established and rapidly growing residential property and construction group is seeking an experienced Site Manager to join its Melbourne team and take ownership of the delivery of medium-density residential projects across Victoria.

With a significant pipeline of townhouses, multi-unit residential developments and built-form communities, this is an opportunity to join a well-capitalised business with strong forward workload and the ability to offer genuine project continuity.

The role would suit a Site Manager who has successfully delivered medium-density residential projects at scale and is comfortable managing multiple trades, programme, quality, safety and subcontractor performance from commencement through to handover.

The Role

Reporting into the Construction leadership team, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management and delivery of assigned residential projects.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Managing the construction of medium-density townhouse and multi-unit residential projects
• Coordinating subcontractors, trades, suppliers and site personnel
• Managing site programmes, critical milestones and construction sequencing
• Ensuring projects are delivered in accordance with programme, budget and quality expectations
• Conducting regular site inspections and maintaining high standards of workmanship
• Managing OH&S, site compliance and construction documentation
• Monitoring subcontractor performance and addressing programme or quality issues quickly
• Coordinating materials, deliveries and trade sequencing to maintain site productivity
• Working closely with Construction Managers, Project Managers, estimating and procurement teams
• Reviewing drawings and identifying buildability issues before they impact programme
• Managing defects, practical completion and project handover
• Maintaining accurate site records, reporting and documentation
• Building strong relationships with subcontractors, consultants and internal stakeholders

About You

To be successful, you will ideally have:

• Proven experience as a Site Manager, Site Supervisor or Construction Supervisor within residential construction
• Strong experience delivering medium-density townhouse or multi-unit residential projects
• Experience managing projects from site establishment through to completion and handover
• Strong knowledge of residential construction sequencing and methodology
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple subcontractors and trades concurrently
• Strong programming, organisation and problem-solving capability
• A thorough understanding of quality, safety and compliance requirements
• Strong communication and leadership skills
• The ability to drive programme while maintaining quality standards
• Relevant construction qualifications and licences highly regarded
• Current driver's licence
