Job summary

Gosourcing Pty Ltd is seeking a Senior Release Train Engineer (EL1/EL1/EL2 levels) to lead agile programs for a Federal Government client in Australia. You will coordinate with stakeholders, escalate blockages and drive continuous improvement within a hybrid work arrangement.

Onsite presence is required initially for 6 weeks with potential flexible arrangements thereafter. The role requires strong leadership, independence, and the ability to manage release processes, risks, budgets and

Qualifications

• Essential criteria include establishing measurement objectives and improving measurement capability (SFIA Level 5).
• Guidance for adoption and tailoring of methods and tools to policies and standards (SFIA Level 4).
• Capability improvement assignments and prioritisation with measurable benefits (SFIA Level 5).
• Facilitates workgroups and sustains team principles and ceremonies (SFIA Level 5).
• Subject-matter expert advice and ongoing knowledge maintenance in specialist areas (SFIA Level 4).

Responsibilities

• Lead and support operations of the team, set priorities and manage resources and workflow.
• Lead and manage staff, including performance, attendance and wellbeing.
• Develop staff capability through coaching, mentoring and succession planning.
• Monitor quality against performance standards via analysis and reporting.
• Define, improve and communicate release management processes.
• Manage the technical release process and approvals for production.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to achieve project outcomes and meet milestones.
• Ensure approvals before production moves and that milestones are met on time and budget.
• Identify risks and develop mitigation strategies and issues.
• Contribute to ICT strategy and resolve conflicts as needed.
• Share knowledge as SME and mentor less experienced colleagues.
• Oversee and review technical and corporate documentation.
• Report on business outcomes and KPIs to manage performance.
• Attend interagency meetings to influence business outcomes.
• Resolve highly complex and escalated issues; encourage innovation and change.
• Manage costing and cost forecasting; engage with agencies and service providers.
• Promote APS Values and Code of Conduct; exercise delegation per guidelines.
