Job summary

Gosourcing Pty Ltd in Australia is seeking a Senior Software Engineer (EL1 level) to lead and oversee software development projects, provide technical leadership to a team, and ensure the quality and security of the software produced. You will design, develop, test and document software systems, drive delivery of modern customer service, manage stakeholders, and adhere to governance standards.

Location is hybrid across VIC/QLD/ACT with onsite start and potential flexible arrangements.

Qualifications

• Emerging technology monitoring: SFIA Level 5 responsibilities and capability to assess tech impacts.
• Methods and tools: guidance on adopting methods and tools in line with standards.
• Programming/software development: responsibility across software development stages and security.
• Release and deployment: planning and design of release packages with risk assessment.
• Software configuration: drives configuration activities ensuring security.
• Software design: designs complex software applications and components.
• Specialist advice: provides detailed advice on applying their specialization.
• Systems design: designs large/complex systems balancing functional and non-functional requirements.
• Systems integration and build: plans and drives systems integration and build capabilities.
• Testing: selects testing approaches and develops test plans.
• Desirable: Configuration management Level 2.

Responsibilities

• Lead and create software and technical designs for highly complex development solutions.
• Develop strategy to ensure high quality code and long-term maintenance of a product's code base.
• Provide specialist technical advice on software development and maintenance.
• Lead the release and ensure go-live production support and maintenance for the team’s developments.
• Lead analysis, design, software development, prototyping, unit testing and maintenance activities.
• Review and undertake high-level analysis of technical requirements to support project evaluation with proposed solutions.
• Ensure compliance with endorsed software development methodologies.
• Investigate and resolve highly complex ICT issues.
• Lead a positive risk management culture.
• Engage and manage stakeholder relationships with other agencies and service providers.
• Contribute to workforce planning and develop local strategies to improve KPIs.
• Review and prepare reports and communications of technical findings.
• Manage business objectives and implement strategic priorities.
• Lead the development and delivery of projects within the assigned area.
• Perform and manage cost analysis activities.
• Lead and manage staff to increase performance through coaching, capability development, and performance management.
• Exercise appropriate delegation in accordance with legislation.
