Job summary
Calleo is seeking an experienced Release Train Engineer to lead and coordinate Agile delivery across large, enterprise-scale programs, including government transformation initiatives. You will govern release management, manage risks, and drive continuous improvement with multiple teams and stakeholders.
In this role you will facilitate planning, coaching teams to higher Agile maturity, and ensure governance and reporting are robust.
Qualifications
- Extensive release train engineering experience in large programs.
- SAFe RTE certification or equivalent Agile certification is highly valued.
- Experience delivering outcomes in government or large enterprise environments is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate Agile delivery activities across multiple teams and stakeholders.
- Define, improve and govern release management processes and delivery practices.
- Manage end-to-end technical and business release activities.
- Ensure appropriate approvals and governance requirements are met before production releases.
- Monitor program performance, delivery outcomes, quality metrics and implementation progress.
- Identify, manage and elevate delivery risks, issues and dependencies.
- Facilitate Agile ceremonies, planning activities and stakeholder workshops.
- Coach and mentor teams to improve Agile maturity, collaboration and delivery performance.
- Prepare and review reporting, dashboards, status updates and delivery documentation.
- Support resource planning, forecasting, budgeting and program governance activities.
- Drive continuous improvement, innovation and operational excellence across delivery teams.
- Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to achieve program outcomes.

We are seeking an experienced Release Train Engineer (RTE) to support the delivery of large-scale digital transformation initiatives within a major Federal Government agency.
This is an excellent opportunity for a senior Agile delivery professional to lead complex delivery streams, coordinate multiple teams and stakeholders, and drive continuous improvement across enterprise-scale programs. The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring projects deliver value, manage risks effectively and achieve strategic outcomes.
As the Release Train Engineer, you will operate within a complex Agile environment, providing leadership across planning, release management, stakeholder engagement and delivery governance.
Working closely with delivery teams, executives and business stakeholders, you will facilitate program execution, remove impediments, manage risks and support the successful delivery of strategic initiatives. This role requires strong leadership capability, exceptional communication skills and experience coordinating delivery across multiple teams and workstreams.

- Demonstrated experience as a Release Train Engineer, Delivery Lead, Agile Program Manager or similar role within large and complex environments
- Strong experience leading Agile delivery frameworks, release planning and cross-team coordination
- Proven ability to manage risks, dependencies, stakeholder expectations and competing priorities
- Experience facilitating Agile ceremonies, workshops and planning sessions across multiple teams
- Strong understanding of release management, governance and enterprise delivery processes
- Experience using Agile delivery tools such as Jira, Confluence and reporting platforms
- Proven capability in coaching, mentoring and developing high-performing teams
- Strong analytical, reporting and performance measurement skills
- Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication and influencing abilities at all organisational levels
- Experience delivering outcomes within Government or large enterprise organisations is highly regarded
- SAFe Release Train Engineer certification or equivalent Agile certification
- Experience driving organisational capability uplift and continuous improvement programs
- Previous experience within Federal Government environments
- AGSVA Baseline security clearance
- 12 month contract + 2x 12-month extension options
