Job summary

Xero is seeking a Senior Mobile Engineer to shape and build the Xero Accounting App, our flagship mobile experience used by small businesses worldwide to manage their finances on the go. You will play a hands-on role shipping complex features end to end, collaborating with Product, Design, backend and platform teams, while mentoring engineers and raising the engineering bar.

Qualifications

• Strong, demonstrable experience building and shipping production mobile apps with React Native.
• Understanding of building mobile software at scale: performance, reliability, release management and observability.
• Ownership of complex mobile features from design to production and operation.
• Comfort working across mobile/backend boundaries; experience with APIs or BFF patterns is valuable.
• Experience shipping to large active user bases and making pragmatic technical decisions.
• Mentoring engineers to raise engineering standards through code reviews and collaboration.
• Active use of AI-assisted development and automation to improve efficiency.

• Take complex mobile features from idea to production and beyond.
• Contribute to technical design and APIs across the mobile stack.
