Job summary

Xero is seeking a Senior Mobile Engineer to shape and build the Xero Accounting App, our flagship mobile experience used by small businesses globally to manage finances wherever work takes them. We are evolving our mobile architecture toward React Native and seek iOS/Android engineers who bring deep native expertise to this journey.

You will own complex features end to end, mentor teammates and influence architecture across mobile and backend teams.

Qualifications

• Proven experience building and shipping production mobile apps with Swift and/or Kotlin.
• Strong native platform knowledge, performance, release processes and production operations.
• Willingness to grow React Native capability as the mobile architecture evolves.

Responsibilities

• Own complex mobile features end to end from design to production and measurement.
• Mentor engineers, conduct code reviews and raise engineering standards.
• Influence APIs, data flows and architectural patterns across mobile and backend teams.
• Contribute to AI-assisted development and automation to accelerate delivery.
• Collaborate with Product, Design, backend and platform teams to ship high‑quality mobile experiences.
