Job summary

Transport for NSW – Sydney Metro is seeking a Senior Manager Operations Planning for a temporary opportunity based in Sydney, NSW. You will influence design to deliver operational and maintenance outcomes, review drawings for operability and accessibility, and work with engineers and operators to resolve issues across the project lifecycle.

The role is a temporary Transport Senior Service Manager position until 31/03/2028 with potential extension.

Qualifications

• Experience in rail operations or maintenance, ideally in a major project environment.
• Ability to navigate technical drawings and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Shape operational and maintenance outcomes across design and delivery of Sydney Metro West.
• Review and challenge designs, drawings and documentation to ensure operability, accessibility and maintainability.
• Identify operational risks and provide practical advice to support project outcomes.
• Partner with engineers, project teams, technical specialists, commercial teams and operators to resolve issues.
• Influence stakeholders and translate technical information into practical guidance.
• Assess options to support informed decisions, whole‑of‑life outcomes and value for money.
