Job summary

Transport for NSW is seeking a Senior Manager Transport Planning for the Sydney Metro West project to lead metropolitan-scale planning, oversee interchanges and integration with existing modes, and drive evidence-based decisions. You will steer cross-agency collaboration with government partners, local councils and stakeholders to deliver accessible, sustainable transport outcomes.

You’ll manage teams in a matrix structure, engage external contractors, and balance customer needs with cost

Qualifications

• Well developed leadership, project planning and management expertise.
• Strong stakeholder engagement experience liaising with delivery partners, TfNSW and government agencies.
• Demonstrated experience in transport planning for rail and other modes.
• Ability to balance customer outcomes with cost effectiveness and communicate decisions.
• Knowledge of current transport systems in Greater Sydney and integration of new services.
• Relevant tertiary qualifications in planning, engineering or transport infrastructure fields.

Responsibilities

• Shape Sydney’s future through metropolitan scale, integrated transport planning for the Sydney Metro West project.
• Facilitate planning collaboration across a range of government and community stakeholders.
• Manage and deliver Sydney Metro interchanges and integration between existing transport modes, including service standards and network plans.
• Collaborate to ensure alignment of strategic policy initiatives across Transport Cluster.
• Foster an evidence based culture with robust analysis including modelling for transport planning.
• Lead and manage teams within a matrix structure to inspire direction and drive change, including external contractors.
