Job summary

Landis+Gyr in Sydney seeks an experienced Senior Project & Services Support Engineer to provide advanced engineering leadership across customer delivery teams for smart metering solutions in the ANZ and Southeast Asia region.

You will engage with customers, product development, operations, and engineering to ensure reliable, scalable performance while driving continuous improvement across service outcomes. A tertiary engineering degree and strong networking/device knowledge are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years' experience in engineering, communications, metering, IoT or related technical environments.
• Certifications such as ITIL Foundation, PRINCE2, Kepner-Tregoe, or similar incident/problem management certifications (desirable).
• Project coordination or project management experience (preferred).
• Demonstrated experience delivering projects involving both hardware and software-based solutions.
• Strong experience in device deployment, commissioning, troubleshooting and root cause analysis.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex troubleshooting across devices, networks, integrations and IP-based transport.
• Act as SME for connectivity performance, interoperability and reliability across cellular, RF Mesh, Wi-SUN and hybrid networks.
• Support device deployment, testing, commissioning and validation activities.
• Verify end-to-end connectivity between field devices, HES and operational platforms.
• Lead RCA investigations for communications and network issues.
• Drive preventative and corrective actions to improve network performance and reliability.
• Coordinate and support major incident management activities when required.
• Ensure customer issues are resolved and communicated professionally throughout the lifecycle.
• Support successful delivery of customer projects and contractual commitments.
• Assist with technical scoping, planning, and change requests.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation (runbooks, SOPs, plans).
• Monitor project progress and ensure timely completion of activities.
• Develop ITS test plans for firmware, software and product releases.
• Assist with rollout strategies and post-release support.
• Contribute to evolution of Grid Edge and smart network capabilities.
• Act as a senior technical interface between customers and internal engineering teams.
• Present technical findings and RCA outcomes during customer reviews.
• Provide technical consulting support to Account Managers, Project Managers and Sales teams.
• Build trusted customer relationships through responsive service delivery.
