Job summary

Emanate Technology Pty Ltd is seeking a Senior Project Manager for a 6-month contract based in Brisbane's CBD. The role supports a major digital transformation program in a large government/enterprise context, leading end-to-end delivery and cross-functional teams in a hybrid work setting.

You will oversee multi-stakeholder governance, vendor relationships, and software delivery across Agile, Waterfall, and hybrid approaches, ensuring on-time, on-budget outcomes with a focus on risk management

Senior Project Manager

6 Month Contract | Brisbane CBD Location | Hybrid | $128.81+Super per hour

About the role

We are partnering with a large Queensland Government organisation to appoint an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead the delivery of a major digital transformation program.

This role will oversee the implementation of a contemporary, enterprise-wide information system that will replace a critical legacy platform. Working within a complex stakeholder environment, you will lead multidisciplinary teams, manage vendor relationships, and drive successful project outcomes across scope, budget, schedule, quality, and risk.

This is an outstanding opportunity for a seasoned project leader who has successfully delivered large-scale technology and software development projects within complex government or enterprise environments.

What you will be doing

• Lead the end-to-end delivery of a large-scale digital transformation project.
• Manage multiple workstreams, project dependencies, risks, issues, budgets, and delivery schedules.
• Provide leadership to multidisciplinary teams including project resources, business analysts, technical teams, vendors, and implementation partners.
• Oversee software development and technology delivery using Agile, iterative, and hybrid project methodologies.
• Drive cloud-based initiatives including infrastructure, platform services, migration activities, and release management.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with senior stakeholders, executives, vendors, and delivery partners.
• Ensure project governance, reporting, assurance, and compliance activities are effectively managed.
• Prepare and present executive-level reports, briefings, recommendations, and project status updates.
• Monitor project financials, forecasts, and resource utilisation to ensure commercially sound delivery outcomes.
• Champion continuous improvement and best-practice project management methodologies across the program.

What you will bring

• Proven experience delivering complex technology and digital transformation projects in large-scale environments.
• Strong project leadership experience with responsibility for budgets, governance, reporting, risk management, and stakeholder engagement.
• Demonstrated success managing multidisciplinary teams and external delivery partners.
• Exceptional stakeholder management and influencing skills, with the ability to engage senior executives and business leaders.
• Experience delivering software development projects from initiation through to implementation.
• Strong understanding of project delivery methodologies, including Agile, Waterfall, and hybrid approaches.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and drive successful outcomes within complex organisational environments.
• Experience developing executive briefings, reports, business cases, and project documentation.
• Proven capability to identify and mitigate project risks before they impact delivery outcomes.

Bonus points for

• Previous experience delivering major Queensland Government or public sector programs.
• Experience leading enterprise application modernisation or legacy system replacement initiatives.
• Exposure to cloud migration, platform modernisation, or large-scale systems integration projects.
• Experience managing outsourced software development partners and vendor contracts.
• Formal project management certifications such as PRINCE2, PMP, AgilePM, SAFe, or equivalent.
• Experience working within highly governed environments requiring robust assurance and reporting practices.
