Job summary

Sharp and Carter seeks an experienced Technical Delivery Manager for a Brisbane-based contract, hybrid role. You will oversee the delivery of data analytics, AI and cloud-enabled capabilities within a major transformation program.

You will coordinate with Senior Project Manager, architects, data analysts and vendors, translating architecture into practical work packages and ensuring risk-managed, on-time delivery to meet business outcomes.

Qualifications

• Proven experience leading delivery of complex enterprise data, analytics, BI, data warehouse or data transformation initiatives.
• Strong technical delivery experience across multidisciplinary teams including architects, analysts, engineers, vendors and operations.
• Experience with modern enterprise data and analytics platforms and cloud services.

Job description

Contract to February 2027 | Brisbane | Hybrid Working

We are currently seeking an experienced Technical Delivery Manager to join our QLD Government client and play a key role in the delivery of a major technology transformation program.

This is an opportunity to contribute to a significant technology program, supporting the delivery of data, analytics, reporting and AI capabilities that will underpin the organisation's operations.

The Opportunity

Working closely with the Senior Project Manager, Solution Architects, Data & AI Architects, Data Analysts, engineers, vendors and operational support teams, you will lead the day-to-day coordination of technical delivery across the project.

You will be responsible for translating architecture and project objectives into clear technical work packages, managing dependencies and delivery risks, and ensuring solutions are delivered in line with agreed scope, architecture, quality standards and business outcomes.

The role will also act as a key interface between project delivery teams and business-as-usual technology teams, supporting testing, implementation, operational readiness and service transition.

Key responsibilities include

• Lead the day-to-day technical delivery of the project
• Coordinate technical delivery across architects, analysts, engineers, vendors, implementation partners and operational support teams
• Translate architecture designs and project objectives into actionable work packages, priorities and implementation plans
• Manage technical delivery schedules, resources, milestones, dependencies and critical path activities
• Provide technical leadership and oversight across data integration, reporting, analytics, AI capabilities and cloud-based platform services
• Work closely with BAU technology teams to support transition and operational readiness
• Coordinate testing, quality assurance, deployment and transition activitiesManage technical risks, issues, dependencies and delivery constraints
• Ensure technical solutions align with approved architecture, technology standards and organisational policies
• Manage external vendors and technical delivery partners to ensure quality outcomes and delivery performance
• Provide clear reporting, recommendations and advice to the Senior Project Manager and governance bodies
• Support future delivery roadmaps and implementation strategies
• Drive continuous improvement across technical delivery practices, including automation, standardisation, governance and delivery efficiency

About You

• Proven experience leading the delivery of complex enterprise data, analytics, business intelligence, data warehouse, data platform or digital transformation initiatives
• Strong technical delivery experience across multidisciplinary teams including architects, analysts, engineers, developers, vendors and operational support teams
• Strong understanding of modern enterprise data and analytics platforms
• Experience across data warehousing, data lakes/lakehouse architectures, BI and reporting platforms, data integration, data governance and AI/advanced analytics
• Strong Microsoft and cloud technology experience, including Azure, Azure Data Services, Azure DevOps, Power BI, Microsoft Entra ID and Microsoft 365
• Experience coordinating data migration, integration, data platform implementation, reporting, analytics and cloud-based technology delivery
• Strong understanding of Agile, hybrid and traditional project delivery methodologies
• Ability to interpret architecture designs and translate them into practical delivery plans and work packages
• Strong experience managing technical dependencies, risks, issues, schedules and delivery outcomes within complex technology environments
• Understanding of software delivery lifecycles, cloud operations, testing and QA, change and release management, service transition and information security
• Strong stakeholder engagement, communication, negotiation and problem-solving skills
• Experience working within government, intelligence, regulatory, justice, law enforcement or other highly governed environments will be highly regarded
• Relevant PMI, Agile, PRINCE2, Azure, Data Platform, IT Service Management or related certifications will be highly regarded
• A collaborative, accountable and solutions-focused approach to delivery

This role would suit a Technical Delivery Manager who is comfortable operating across both the technical and delivery sides of a complex transformation program and enjoys bringing together technical teams, stakeholders and vendors to achieve successful outcomes.
