Job summary

Steel Builder is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager in Queensland who brings judgement to structural steel delivery, connecting contractual requirements, programme, procurement, fabrication, logistics, site readiness and installation.

You will work with the General Manager and senior operational leadership to deliver strong commercial, client, programme, safety and quality outcomes across allocated projects.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering structural steel projects or similar large-scale builds.
• Ability to manage programmes, procurement and logistics end-to-end.
• Strong client and stakeholder communication under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Establishing and maintaining a credible project-delivery plan.
• Coordinating design information, procurement, fabrication, transport and installation requirements.
• Managing project programmes, priorities, dependencies and emerging constraints.
• Maintaining accurate project forecasts and commercial reporting.
• Identifying, documenting and managing variations, delays, risks and contractual notices.
• Leading client, contractor and internal project discussions.
• Ensuring issues are raised early and resolved constructively.
• Directing and developing Project Managers, Project Coordinators and other project-team members where applicable.
• Maintaining appropriate safety, quality and reporting disciplines.
• Contributing practical improvements to Steel Builder's project-delivery systems and standards.

Steel Builder is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager in Queensland who brings that judgement to structural steel delivery.

The opportunity

Steel Builder provides structural steel services spanning fabrication, supply, logistics, project management and installation.

This role will take senior responsibility for allocated projects, connecting contractual requirements, programme, procurement, fabrication, logistics, site readiness and installation.

You will work with the relevant General Manager and senior operational leadership to deliver strong commercial, client, programme, safety and quality outcomes.

What you will lead

• Establishing and maintaining a credible project-delivery plan.

What we are looking for

You may already be a Senior Project Manager, or you may be an experienced Project Manager who is ready for a broader mandate.

Your experience may come from:

• Structural steel;
• Industrial or logistics construction;
• Manufacturing or advanced manufacturing facilities;
• Major warehousing and distribution projects;
• Another relevant project-delivery environment.

Relevant construction, engineering or project-management qualifications will be well regarded. Equivalent, substantial practical experience will also be considered.
