Job summary

Barclay Recruitment seeks an experienced Project Manager for an established Australian precast concrete manufacturer. You will own 6–8 live precast projects from award to practical completion, coordinating design, manufacturing, transport and site erection across SE Queensland.

The role is ~50% office/factory-based and ~50% on construction sites, with eight-hour days, supportive leadership, and a focus on outcomes.

Qualifications

• 5–8 years' experience in project management within construction or manufacturing.
• Degree in civil/structural engineering or construction management is required.
• Experience reading structural/shop drawings confidently.
• Proven ability to develop and manage detailed production programs.
• Current White Card and a valid driver's licence.

Responsibilities

• Manage 6–8 precast projects from award through to completion.

• Oversee budgets, claims, variations and margins.

Job description

An established Australian precast concrete manufacturer is seeking a Project Manager to take ownership of projects from contract award through to practical completion.

You will manage approximately six to eight live projects, coordinating builders, drafting, engineering, manufacturing, transport and site erection. This is a genuine end-to-end project management role where you will control the program, commercial outcomes, quality and delivery of your projects.

The position is approximately 50% office- and factory-based and 50% across construction sites throughout Southeast Queensland.

What You Will Do

• Manage 6–8 precast projects from award through to completion
• Develop programs for drawings, production, transport and erection
• Manage builders, consultants, suppliers and subcontractors
• Coordinate shop drawings, engineering approvals and RFIs
• Plan panel delivery, cranage, rigging, propping and installation
• Manage budgets, claims, variations, purchase orders and margins
• Oversee project quality, safety, documentation and reporting

Essential Skills

• 5–8 years' experience as a project manager, project or site engineer
• Degree in civil or structural engineering or construction management
• A trade background with serious project delivery is also considered.
• Your background: construction, precast, structures or manufacturing.
• Read structural and architectural shop drawings with real confidence
• Build and manage detailed programs in MS Project or similar software
• Solid working knowledge of contracts, variations and progress claims
• Precast, tilt-up, cranage or lift planning experience is a big plus.
• Current White Card, plus a current and unrestricted driver's licence
• Confident using Microsoft Office for project reporting and documents
