Job summary

KAEFER Integrated Services seeks an experienced Project Engineer to support a major SMP project in the Pilbara region, with Perth as the point of hire. The role focuses on safe, efficient delivery and coordinating multi‑discipline teams to meet project standards.

You will drive planning, cost control, progress reporting and engineering deliverables while resolving constructability issues and maintaining strong safety practices on site. A strong communicative and proactive mindset is essential.

Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering or equivalent experience in shutdown environments preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in mining, construction or heavy industrial projects.
• Strong organisational, analytical and problem‑solving capability.
• Confident interpreting drawings, specifications and engineering documentation.
• Effective communicator across disciplines and stakeholders.
• A proactive mindset aligned with company values: Reliability, Ambition, Respect and Team Spirit.

Responsibilities

• Support the Project Manager with planning, scheduling, cost control and progress reporting.
• Develop work packs, method statements, ITPs and ensure engineering deliverables meet project standards.
• Coordinate materials, equipment, subcontractors and labour to enable project execution.
• Track daily progress, analyse earned hours, monitor PF and assist with forecasting.
• Review drawings, identify constructability issues and raise TQs, RFIs or design clarifications.
• Assist with QA/QC activities including inspections, redlines, MDR compilation and punch list close‑out.
• Support risk management, change control processes and variation development.
• Work collaboratively with SMP, commissioning and operations teams to resolve issues promptly.
• Champion safety through preparation of safe work documentation and active field engagement.
