Job summary

Common Good Partners is seeking a Senior Project Engineer for a major, high-profile construction project in Sydney's CBD. You will join an experienced project team and take ownership of key packages across a large-scale, technically complex new build, working closely with the Project Manager, Site Manager and delivery team.

The role offers the chance to deliver safely and efficiently to a high standard, develop leadership within the team, and progress within a well-established head contractor

Qualifications

• Experience with a recognised Tier 1 or Tier 2 builder.
• Experience delivering large-scale construction new build projects.
• Experience as a Senior Project Engineer or ready to step up.
• Strong technical construction knowledge and major package ownership on new builds.
• Ability to coordinate multiple subcontractors, consultants and stakeholders.
• Strong communication, organisation and problem-solving skills.
• Qualification in construction management, engineering or related discipline.
• Full Australian working rights.

Responsibilities

• Manage major construction packages from procurement through to completion.
• Coordinate subcontractors, consultants and internal project stakeholders.
• Review design documentation and resolve technical issues.
• Manage RFIs, shop drawings, methodologies and approvals.
• Monitor programme, quality, cost and delivery milestones.
• Support procurement, contract administration and commercial processes.
• Ensure works comply with project specifications, safety requirements and relevant standards.
• Mentor and support junior engineers.
• Build strong relationships with the client, consultants and subcontractors.

Common Good Partners is working with an established Australian commercial construction business to appoint a Senior Project Engineer for a major, high-profile project in Sydney's CBD.

This is an opportunity to join an experienced project team and take ownership of key packages across a large-scale, technically complex new builds. You will work closely with the Project Manager, Site Manager and wider delivery team to ensure the project is delivered safely, efficiently and to a high standard.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Managing major construction packages from procurement through to completion
• Coordinating subcontractors, consultants and internal project stakeholders
• Reviewing design documentation and resolving technical issues
• Managing RFIs, shop drawings, methodologies and approvals
• Monitoring programme, quality, cost and delivery milestones
• Supporting procurement, contract administration and commercial processes
• Ensuring works comply with project specifications, safety requirements and relevant standards
• Mentoring and supporting junior engineers where required
• Building strong relationships with the client, consultants and subcontractors

To be considered for this position, you must have:

• Previous experience with a recognised Tier 1 or Tier 2 builder
• Demonstrated experience delivering large-scale construction new build projects - not infrastructure and civils
• Experience working as a Senior Project Engineer, or as an accomplished Project Engineer ready to step up
• Strong technical construction knowledge and major package ownership on new builds like government, commercial, residential or similar
• The ability to coordinate multiple subcontractors, consultants and stakeholders
• Strong communication, organisation and problem-solving skills
• A qualification in construction management, engineering or a related discipline
• Full Australian working rights
