Job summary

The Department of Health in Victoria is seeking a Senior Program Officer to lead quality and safety projects within the AOD Programs and Performance Unit in Melbourne. You will plan, implement and evaluate reforms, translating policy into practical actions with internal teams and external partners.

Qualifications

Tertiary qualification in mental health, public health, public policy or related field is advantageous.
Experience in policy analysis, project management and stakeholder engagement.
Knowledge of Victorian AOD system desirable.

Responsibilities

Develop policy options, project briefs and advice on complex issues.
Undertake research and analysis to inform policy and sector standards.
Apply policy concepts to operational issues and new situations.
Organise work and resources to deliver outputs.
Build stakeholder relationships and negotiate cooperation to meet delivery timelines.
Develop innovative, practical approaches to improve outcomes.
Prepare high-quality reports, Cabinet material, ministerial and Secretary briefings, and meeting papers.
