Job summary

Canva is seeking a senior software engineer for Production Engineering, embedded alongside product teams to tackle high-risk reliability challenges. You will write production software, improve systems, and collaborate across disciplines to ensure scalable, resilient infrastructure.

You will join a group focused on preventing incidents, improving latency, and delivering reliable platforms. The role emphasizes deep systems work, cross-team mentorship, and enduring impact on Canva’s growth.

Qualifications

• Production at scale experience with large-scale distributed systems.
• Embedded delivery with a product or feature team, not siloed in a platform org.
• Proficiency in Java, Go, Rust, or similar production languages.
• Experience with distributed systems patterns and real-world tradeoffs.
• Ability to debug large codebases and locate root causes quickly.
• Proven ability to influence improvements through collaboration and trust.
