Job summary

Opteon is seeking a senior Product Engineer to lead end-to-end delivery for Australia and New Zealand platforms. You will champion rapid, evidence-based learning and coach other Product Engineers in a product operating model.

You will drive AI-enabled development, collaborate across legacy and modern systems, and shape roadmaps through measurable outcomes. Flexible working arrangements are available, including office and home-based options.

Qualifications

• 6+ years delivering software professionally at scale.
• Tertiary qualification in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Australian citizenship and eligibility to obtain and maintain an NV1 security clearance.
• Strong C# skills across .NET Framework and .NET Core / .NET 8+, plus ASP.NET experience.
• Hands-on experience with agentic AI coding assistants and AI concepts.
• Hands-on experience with AWS (RDS, IAM, S3, ECS, Beanstalks).
• Experience with Vue or similar front-end frameworks and JavaScript/TypeScript, plus legacy MVC4.
• Experience designing and querying relational databases (MSSQL, Postgres).
• Experience building and consuming RESTful APIs.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Jenkins).
• Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform or similar).
• Experience in a product operating model organisation.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Own outcomes end to end with accountability for measurable results.
• Build robust solutions across legacy and modern platforms with CI/CD release and testing.
• Drive discovery using user research, prototypes, and technical spikes.
• Embed product thinking with hypothesis-driven delivery and outcome metrics.
• Coach and share knowledge on discovery, operating model, and technical craft.
• Challenge the feature factory and propose outcome-based alternatives.
• Lead with AI, model agentic coding tool use, and set safe, effective AI development standards.
