Job summary

Fliteboard, based in Byron Bay, seeks an experienced Senior Product Engineer to advance our product range from concept to production and beyond. You’ll report to the Head of Product Design & Engineering and drive engineering excellence, design improvement, and exceptional customer experiences on the water.

You will collaborate with design, production, quality, supply chain, and external partners to own products end-to-end, applying DFM, FMEAs, and robust validation testing to ensure world-class

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (or related discipline).
• 10+ years’ professional engineering experience, including 3+ years in a comparable senior role.
• Advanced proficiency in 3D CAD (SolidWorks preferred).
• Strong experience across full NPD lifecycle — concept to production.
• Deep understanding of materials, manufacturing processes, and part specification.
• Working knowledge of FEA and tolerance analysis.
• Experience with CNC machining and injection moulding.
• Composites experience is advantageous.
• Strong analytical mindset with creative problem-solving skills.
• Self-motivated, collaborative, and comfortable owning complex engineering challenges.
• Mechatronics experience

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed CAD designs and comprehensive engineering documentation.
• Perform FEM/FEA and tolerance analyses to support robust design decisions.
• Plan and execute design validation testing and prototyping.
• Apply Design for Manufacture (DFM) principles and support production implementation.
• Lead process validation activities and manage Engineering Change Notices (ECNs).
• Prepare and facilitate Design and Process FMEAs.
• Investigate and resolve product and manufacturing issues.

The Role
