Job summary

Namawell Pty Ltd seeks a Senior Design Engineer to deliver robust electromechanical designs for food and wellness products in a fast-paced environment. You will transform concepts into manufacturable solutions, balancing performance, cost, and regulatory compliance.

You will lead prototype builds, coordinate with suppliers, and ensure continued alignment with the company’s mission while driving product innovations and improvements across global partnerships.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical, mechatronic, or manufacturing engineering with electromechanical product design experience.
• 7+ years hands-on engineering in R&D and manufacturing, preferably in food/beverage appliances.
• End-to-end product development experience, motor-driven design expertise.
• SolidWorks expertise with complex plastics surfacing, sheet metal, enclosure design; FEA/CFD and thermal analyses.
• Knowledge of fabrication and manufacturing processes (injection moulding, die casting, machining).
• Familiarity with electrical/safety standards (UL, CE, IEC) and food-contact regs.
• Experience coordinating with cross-functional teams and international contract manufacturers.

Responsibilities

• Lead rapid prototype construction with internal and external partners.
• Perform tolerance analyses and design reviews for mass production viability and quality.

• Drive root-cause analysis (FMEA) and corrective actions during development.
• Maintain BOMs, ECOs, drawings, and report progress to stakeholders.
• Refine product performance test procedures to meet standards and brand expectations.
• Support the Strategic Product Roadmap development and delivery.

We're seeking a Senior Design Engineer who uses a hands-on approach to problem solving to deliver designs and robustly engineered solutions to specification, with a high degree of quality. You combine Engineering expertise with a passion for food, health and wellness and share this knowledge for the benefit of others. You are attuned to your responsibility in the decision making that determines the total product lifecycle and the impact this has on environment and community.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure products are holistically considered and directly aligned with the Company's Mission and Philosophy
• Detail design of complex electromechanical assemblies, leveraging a broad knowledge of materials, production processes, and surface finishing techniques
• Lead fast-turnaround prototype construction, managing builds both internally and in partnership with external contractors
• Perform tolerance stack analyses and technical design reviews (DFM/DFA) to ensure mass-production viability and quality
• Confidently communicate with manufacturers on component development, assembly workflows, tooling design, with strict product quality expectations
• Drive technical root-cause analysis (FMEA) and corrective actions to resolve design and performance issues during development
• Maintain comprehensive technical documentation (BOMs, ECOs, engineering drawings) and report progress directly to key stakeholders
• Follow and refine product performance test procedures to ensure product quality and safety satisfy regulatory standards and brand expectations
• Support the development and delivery of the Strategic Product Roadmap in an efficient and timely manner

About you

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Mechatronic, or Manufacturing Engineering with electromechanical product design experience in both R&D and manufacturing environments
• Minimum 7+ years of hands-on Engineering experience—food or beverage appliance industry experience is a major plus
• End-to-end product development experience, with proven expertise in motor-driven product design
• Strong proficiency in SolidWorks (complex plastic surfacing, sheet metal, enclosure design); experience with FEA/CFD simulation and thermal analysis is highly advantageous
• Strong knowledge of fabrication techniques, manufacturing processes (injection moulding, die casting, machining), and rapid prototyping methods
• Familiarity with regional and international electrical/safety compliance standards (e.g., UL, CE, IEC) and food-contact material regulations
• Proven experience collaborating with Cross-Functional Teams locally and abroad, alongside direct management of international contract manufacturers
