Job summary

RHL Recruitment Australia is seeking a hands-on Product Designer for an award-winning international consumer product design company. The role centers on turning frontend concepts into engineered solutions for high-volume production.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years designing physical products, a degree in a relevant field, and proficiency with 3D CAD (SolidWorks). You will design with DFM in mind and collaborate with teams while coordinating with Asia-based manufacturers.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience designing physical products.
• Degree in Industrial Design or related field (as listed).
• Ability to manage workload and work effectively within a team.
• Knowledge of materials characteristics and manufacturing processes.
• Ability to sketch, render, prototype, test and create technical drawings/DFM, plus written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

The Role

As a Product Designer, you will play an essential role throughout the whole life cycle of the design journey, ensuring that frontend concepts are developed into engineered solutions for successful volume manufacturing. Key responsibilities include:

Skills and experience

We are looking for an enthusiastic, results-driven professional who has:

• 3+ years of experience and proven ability designing physical products
• Degree in a relevant field such as: Industrial Design, Product Design, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Aeronautical Engineering or Biomedical Engineering
• Ability to manage your own workload as well as working effectively within a team
• Knowledge of materials characteristics and manufacturing processes
• Ability to express ideas effectively via concept sketching, rendering, prototyping, testing, technical drawings/DFM, written and verbal communication

• Expertise with 3D CAD (preferably SolidWorks)
