Job summary

Pacific Energy in Perth is seeking Expressions of Interest from Senior and Principal Power Systems Engineers to join our Design & Engineering team. You will deliver power system modelling and studies across generation, renewables and microgrid projects, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to achieve successful outcomes.

The role requires a Electrical Engineering degree, experience in the power or energy sector, and expertise with PSCAD, PSSE, PowerFactory and Python.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Experience in power, utilities or energy sector.
• Strong knowledge of power system analysis and grid connection studies in Australian markets (NEM, SWIS, NWIS).
• Experience with power system modelling tools such as PSCAD, PSS E, PowerFactory and/or Python.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and reporting skills.
• Ability to collaborate with a range of stakeholders.
• Experience automating power system studies through scripting.
• RPEQ, NER and/or CPEng accreditation.
• Demonstrated leadership or mentoring for Principal level opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Deliver power system modelling and analysis across generation, renewable energy and microgrid projects.
• Execute grid connection studies and support compliance across Australian markets.
• Develop, validate, benchmark and cross-platform model conversions.
• Prepare technical reports, recommendations and engineering documentation.
• Collaborate with project, operations and commercial teams to deliver outcomes.
• Stay abreast of industry developments, standards and regulatory changes.
