Job summary
LGT Wealth Management Australia is seeking a Principal Engineer to set technical direction across core wealth platform, integrations and data. You will work with the Enterprise Architect, product and delivery teams to translate architecture into practical solutions and tackle complex challenges.
This is a senior hands-on role, contributing code, reviews and mentoring rather than line management, with responsibility for production quality and secure, scalable systems.
Qualifications
- 12+ years of software engineering experience
- Experience setting technical direction across multiple teams
- Strong cloud-native engineering and CI/CD expertise
- Experience with secure software practices and regulated environments
Responsibilities
- Set and evolve engineering direction in line with enterprise architecture.
- Lead design of complex systems, APIs, data models, integrations, performance and scalability.
- Stay hands-on by writing production-quality code.
- Improve CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code modules.
- Champion reliability through observability and incident reviews.
- Embed secure-by-design and DevSecOps practices.
- Mentor engineers and contribute to hiring standards.
- Advise CTO on technical options and risks
