LGT Wealth Management Australia is seeking a Principal Engineer to set technical direction and strengthen how software is designed, built and run across the Australian wealth platform. You will lead through code, design reviews and mentoring while owning the quality of systems in production.
You will work with Enterprise Architecture, product and delivery teams, ensuring secure, resilient and maintainable solutions across APIs, data models and integrations.
LGT Wealth Management was formed around a clear and uncompromising vision - to bring global best practice in building institutional quality investment portfolios to Australian clients.
With a shared passion for building an uncompromised business - we created something new from the ground up. A chance to leave behind the things that weren't working, while enhancing the things that were. Our authentic and personalised client-first commitment. Our entrepreneurial spirit. Our focus in best-in-class advice. And our intimate understanding of the Australian private wealth landscape.
In 2022 we became a part of the LGT Group, who shared our entrepreneurial spirit, long-term approach and private-ownership model. Today, with the global expertise, stability, and capability of LGT behind us, we can work without being reliant on markets or margins, with a singular focus on giving our clients the advice and deep expertise they need for generations to come.

Extensive software engineering experience (typically 12+ years), including significant experience setting technical direction across multiple teams as a principal, staff or senior technical lead.
Deep expertise in at least one modern programming language, such as C#/.NET, Java, TypeScript or Python, with a strong record of writing and reviewing production code.
Strong distributed systems design skills across APIs, event-driven integrations, data models, performance and resilience.
Hands-on cloud-native engineering experience with Azure and/or AWS, including containers, serverless and infrastructure as code.
Proven experience with CI/CD, automated testing and modern delivery practices, together with practical observability and incident-management skills.
Solid grounding in secure software engineering and the judgement to balance delivery speed, quality, risk and cost.
Ability to mentor and influence across teams and vendors without direct authority. Experience in financial services or other r
