Job summary

The Australian Energy Regulator is seeking a Senior Data Visualisation Analyst to strengthen wholesale market surveillance. You will report to the Capability Technical Analytics Lead and own end-to-end data projects, delivering reliable data, technology and analytical solutions.

You will design and maintain Power BI dashboards, manage data pipelines, validate data lineage and collaborate with surveillance analysts and technology teams to meet governance and security standards.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to planning and delivery of data and technology initiatives that strengthen wholesale market surveillance, coordinating work orders and dependencies.
• Work with surveillance analysts, technology teams and stakeholders to define business requirements and design metrics, indicators and rules.
• Apply hands-on experience across the data lifecycle, including collection, ingestion, processing, integration, storage, modelling and analytical products; develop scalable Power BI dashboards and self-service analytics.
• Validate, reconcile and track data lineage to ensure complete, accurate, timely data; maintain auditable datasets and governance documentation.
• Plan validation, user acceptance testing and implementation assurance for new solutions and migrations; identify defects and confirm deployment readiness.
• Monitor product performance and provide briefs and documentation for knowledge transfer and BAU handover.
