Job summary

Optus is seeking an Associate Director, Portfolio Management to lead portfolio governance, project execution, and risk management within the Networks domain. You will embed enterprise frameworks and drive operational excellence across complex technical environments in a Tier 1 telecommunications network.

The role requires deep portfolio management expertise, strong commercial acumen, and the ability to influence with and without authority to ensure delivery aligns with Networks-wide objectives.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in Telecommunications sector with portfolio/project/risk management expertise.
• Strong commercial acumen and ability to manage complex environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead portfolio governance, project execution, and delivery disciplines with standardised methodologies and reporting.
• Establish governance forums such as Steering Committees and portfolio reviews.
• Coach delivery teams to improve portfolio execution maturity.
• Lead annual operating planning, investment categorisation, and portfolio execution.
• Embed robust risk management practices aligned with enterprise risk frameworks.
• Drive capital governance including investment planning, forecasting, and benefits realisation.
• Identify and resolve issues across delivery initiatives and coordinate cross-domain planning.
