Job summary

Optus is seeking an Associate Director, Internal Audit – Networks & Technology, to lead independent, risk-based assurance across telecommunications networks and technology infrastructure. You will partner with senior stakeholders to strengthen controls, enhance operational resilience and deliver high-quality audit outcomes.

You will oversee complex engagements, manage portfolio-level assurance activities and mentor audit teams, translating technical risks into clear business insights for

Qualifications

• Significant experience in Internal Audit or Technology Risk, including leading complex audits across technology environments.
• Strong practical understanding of telecommunications networks, cloud platforms and data governance.
• Proven ability to assess governance, risk management and control effectiveness in technology-enabled environments.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and ability to translate technical risks for senior leaders.
• Experience in Big 4 consulting in relevant areas is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee complex audits across networks, technology infrastructure and cyber security.
• Develop risk-based audit plans aligned with emerging tech and regulatory risks.
• Provide independent challenge and quality oversight of audit work and reporting.
• Build trusted relationships with senior stakeholders and deliver insights and assurance recommendations.
• Coach audit professionals and drive continuous improvement in audit methodologies.
