Job summary

Optus is seeking an Associate Director, Internal Audit - Networks & Technology to deliver independent, risk-based assurance across the Networks and Technology environment. You will lead complex audits, oversee portfolio‑level assurance, and partner with senior stakeholders to identify risks and strengthen controls for operational resilience.

You will translate technical risks into business insights for executives, coach audit professionals, and drive continuous improvement in audit methodologies

Qualifications

• Significant experience in Internal Audit or Technology Risk.
• Strong understanding of telecommunications networks and cyber security.
• Proven ability to translate technical risks into business implications.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and leadership.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex audits across telecommunications networks, technology infrastructure, cyber security, cloud services, data management, resilience and critical third‑party technology environments.
• Develop and execute risk-based audit plans, ensuring coverage aligns with emerging technology and regulatory risks.
• Provide independent challenge and quality oversight of audit planning, testing, findings and reporting with evidence-based conclusions.
• Build trusted relationships with senior stakeholders across Technology, Cyber Security, Network Operations, Architecture, Data, Risk and Compliance.
• Lead, coach and develop audit professionals while driving continuous improvement in methodologies and capability.
