Chandler Macleod Group is partnering with a Queensland Government agency to recruit a Senior Policy Advisor (AO6) for a 12-month contract in Brisbane CBD, with potential hybrid arrangements.

The role involves providing strategic policy advice, conducting complex research and analysis, and preparing executive briefing materials while engaging with government, regulatory and industry stakeholders to support evidence-based decision-making.

Qualifications

• Experience in policy development, policy analysis or government advisory roles.
• Strong research, analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Excellent written communication skills, including the preparation of executive briefings and reports.
• Exceptional stakeholder engagement and consultation skills.
• Ability to interpret legislation, policy frameworks and strategic directions.

Responsibilities

• Lead and contribute to policy development, review and implementation activities.
• Undertake research, analysis and evaluation of complex policy issues.
• Prepare briefing notes, submissions, correspondence and executive reports.
• Provide high-quality strategic and operational policy advice.
• Build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Identify emerging issues, risks and opportunities and provide recommendations to support informed decision-making.
• Contribute to projects and initiatives within agreed timeframes and quality standards.
