Job summary

Department of Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander Partnerships QLD in Brisbane is seeking an experienced Senior Policy Officer (AO6) to join the Economic and Social Policy team within the Strategic Policy and Legislation branch. You will contribute to strategic policy advice, conduct research, and prepare briefing materials to support government commitments.

You will develop policy options, engage stakeholders, and help lead reform initiatives that improve outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres

Qualifications

Experience in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander policy issues.
Ability to develop practical, evidence-based policy solutions.
Ability to identify emerging policy issues and trends.
Capacity to prepare high-quality reports, submissions and briefing notes.
Experience engaging with senior government stakeholders.
Commitment to inclusive workplace culture and equal opportunity.

Responsibilities

Undertake research into complex policy issues and provide analysis and recommendations.
Identify emerging policy issues and trends impacting Queenslanders.
Develop strategic policy advice and reform initiatives.
Build and maintain relationships with senior government and peak organisations.
Prepare reports, submissions, briefing notes and correspondence.
Contribute to effective governance of the Strategic Policy and Legislation Branch.
Support performance management, WHS and equal employment opportunity principles.
