Job summary

Silicon Quantum Computing (SQC) is seeking a Platform Engineer for its Engineering Infrastructure team in Sydney. The role focuses on operating HPC compute clusters, maintaining GitHub Enterprise pipelines, and expanding internal tooling on Kubernetes for diverse research needs.

You will collaborate with physicists and software engineers to scale the platform and support quantum computing research. A hands-on, high-availability environment awaits with opportunities to shape platform direction.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in platform, DevOps, or infrastructure engineering.
• Strong Docker and Kubernetes.
• Strong Linux administration and scripting (Bash, Python).
• Infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, Ansible, or equivalent).
• CI/CD tooling (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or equivalent).
• Hands-on with HPC or compute cluster environments.
• Core networking services (DNS, DHCP, NTP).
• Strong troubleshooting across complex, multi-system environments.

Responsibilities

• Own and operate HPC compute clusters (on-prem and cloud).
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines across products and toolchains.
• Manage internal application platforms and dev tooling on Kubernetes.
• Support physics and research teams in accessing compute resources.
• Monitor platform health, respond to incidents, and drive reliability improvements.
• Develop infrastructure-as-code practices to improve consistency and onboarding.
