Job summary

XPT Software Australia Pty Ltd is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to maintain, scale, and optimize our hybrid cloud infrastructure. You will work with Kubernetes (EKS), AWS, and CI/CD tooling to ensure reliability and performance across deployments.

Collaborate with development teams to implement automation, security controls, and cost‑effective configurations. This contract role requires hands‑on expertise and a pragmatic approach to operations in a dynamic technology environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of DevOps experience in similar environments.
• Strong knowledge of Kubernetes (EKS) and container orchestration.
• Hands-on AWS experience and cloud cost awareness.
• Proficient with CI/CD pipelines and related tools.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain highly available Kubernetes clusters (EKS) with node pools, upgrades, and DR.
• Enforce Kubernetes security best practices (RBAC, pod security, network policies).
• Manage secrets and configuration (Vault).
• CI/CD Pipeline Management: build and optimize pipelines (Bitbucket, Jenkins, Ansible).
• Automation: develop scripts (Python/Shell) and deployment strategies (blue-green, canary).
• Observability & Monitoring: implement logging, metrics, and alerting for real-time health.
• Performance & Cost Optimization: analyze capacity and optimize AWS resources.
• Security & Compliance: apply security controls and perform ongoing compliance checks.
