Senior Planner for Large-Scale Data Centre Build

Job summary

CPB Contractors Pty, in joint venture with UGL and supported by EIC, is delivering a multi-megawatt data centre project in Truganina, Melbourne. We seek a detail-oriented Planner to develop, maintain and monitor schedules across mechanical, electrical, and civil works.

Reporting to the Senior Planner, you will analyse critical paths, manage schedule risks and provide regular planning updates to project teams, enabling successful delivery on large-scale infrastructure initiatives.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a Planner, Project Coordinator, or Project Controls role.
• Exposure to construction, infrastructure, engineering, utilities, or data centre projects.
• Working knowledge of Primavera P6 (or other leading Enterprise CPM software), OPRA, Asta Powerproject, Microsoft Project, Synchro, Navisworks, SketchUp, TILOS, Chainlink
• Preferably awareness of and some competency in 4D planning and BIM
• Ability to interpret project drawings, schedules, and technical documentation.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Highly organised with strong attention to detail.
• Relevant qualification in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or a related discipline.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain project schedules using Primavera P6 and/or Microsoft Project.
• Monitor project progress and update schedules to reflect current performance.
• Assist with critical path analysis and identify schedule risks and opportunities.
• Support project teams with short and long-term planning activities.
• Produce regular planning reports, progress updates, and schedule dashboards.
• Participate in planning workshops and project review meetings.
• Coordinate with site, engineering, commercial, and project management teams to ensure programme alignment.
• Contribute to tender programmes and project delivery strategies.
