Job summary

CPB Contractors Pty, in joint venture with UGL and supported by EIC, is driving a multi-megawatt data centre project in Truganina, Melbourne. We seek an experienced Senior Planner to lead scheduling, risk mitigation, and delivery.

You will work with project managers, commercial teams, and site leadership to develop programmes and optimise performance. You will apply Primavera P6, OPRA, and other CPM tools to produce schedules, monitor progress, and lead planning workshops, ensuring alignment

Qualifications

• Extensive experience as a Planner or Senior Planner in large projects and complex environments.
• Proficiency with Primavera P6 and other leading CPM software; ability to interpret drawings and specs.
• Strong understanding of project controls, scheduling methodologies, and critical path analysis.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills; able to manage competing priorities.
• Relevant tertiary qualification in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or related discipline.

CPB Contractors in joint venture with UGL and supported by EIC, fellow CIMIC Group companies, is proud to be driving the ground-up development of a multi-megawatt data centre in Truganina in the western suburbs of Melbourne. As the trusted delivery partners for a global digital infrastructure platform, we will be frontiering mission critical facilities and infrastructure. Our expertise will seamlessly integrate complex systems across mechanical, electrical, plumbing and fire, power and telecommunications among much more.

Being an integrated member of the ACS company group, we will leverage and empower this build by drawing on the shared knowledge and aligned systems across an international network to bring global best practice to our region.

The 80 MW data centre will consist of two adjoining 40MW buildings featuring complex internally integrated electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, fire protection, ICT and security systems. Construction will also involve extensive external inground services works, modular electrical equipment including HV / Fire protection facilities construction and civil finishing works.

Your opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Senior Planner to join our high-performing project delivery team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a critical role in the successful planning, scheduling, and delivery of complex construction projects.

Working closely with project managers, commercial teams, and site leadership, you will develop, maintain, and optimise project programmes, providing valuable insights that drive project performance, risk mitigation, and successful outcomes.

Key responsibilities include

• Develop and maintain detailed project schedules using Primavera P6 or other leading enterprise software
• Monitor project progress and identify potential schedule risks and delays.
• Produce critical path analysis, progress reports, and earned value assessments.
• Collaborate with project delivery teams to establish realistic construction sequences and milestones.
• Support tender and bid activities through programme development and planning strategies.
• Lead schedule reviews, planning workshops, and stakeholder reporting.
• Analyse project performance data and recommend corrective actions.
• Lead and develop skills amongst the planning team
• Ensure planning processes align with contractual requirements and project objectives.

About You

• Extensive experience as a Planner or Senior Planner within construction, infrastructure, data centre, resources, or major projects environments.
• Proven competency with current industry standard planning software including Primavera P6 (or other leading Enterprise CPM software), OPRA, Asta Powerproject, Microsoft Project, Synchro, Navisworks, SketchUp, TILOS, Chainlink
• Strong understanding of project controls, scheduling methodologies, and critical path analysis.
• Ability to interpret drawings, specifications, and construction methodologies.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
• Proven ability to manage competing priorities in fast-paced project environments.
• Relevant tertiary qualification in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or a related discipline.
