Job summary

Sharp & Carter is seeking an experienced Senior Payroll Project Analyst to join our team on an initial six-month contract. The role focuses on supporting Time & Attendance implementation and Enterprise Agreement changes while delivering payroll outcomes during a period of change.

You will test, validate and ensure payroll compliance, working with Payroll, HR and external vendors. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience across payroll projects and system implementations, with strong attention

Responsibilities

• Support Time & Attendance system implementation activities including testing and UAT.
• Assist with testing and validation of EA and payroll configuration changes.
• Perform payroll reconciliations, data validation and back-pay calculations.
• Collaborate with Payroll, HR, project stakeholders and external vendors.
• Provide payroll processing support during peak periods.
• Maintain testing documentation, process maps and project records.

About the Opportunity

A well-established organisation seeking an experienced Senior Payroll Project Analyst to join the team on an initial six-month contract. This role has been created to provide additional support across several key payroll initiatives, including the implementation of a new Time & Attendance solution and the rollout of Enterprise Agreement (EBA) changes.

This is a hands‑on opportunity suited to a payroll professional who enjoys working across both project and operational environments. You will play a key role in testing, validation, payroll compliance activities, and supporting business‑critical payroll outcomes during a period of change.

Key Responsibilities

• Supporting Time & Attendance system implementation activities, including system testing, UAT execution, defect management and implementation readiness.
• Assisting with the testing and validation of Enterprise Agreement and payroll configuration changes, ensuring accurate payroll outcomes.
• Performing payroll reconciliations, data validation, back-pay calculations and compliance checks.
• Working closely with Payroll, HR, project stakeholders and external vendors to support successful project delivery.
• Providing additional payroll processing and administration support during peak periods.
• Maintaining testing documentation, process maps and project records to support audit and governance requirements.

Skills & Experience

To be successful in this position, you will demonstrate:

• Previous payroll experience within a medium to large organisation operating under multiple Awards and Enterprise Agreements.
• Strong understanding of payroll compliance, interpretation and payroll governance requirements.
• Proven experience supporting payroll projects, system implementations, upgrades or transformation initiatives.
• Exposure to systems such as UKG/Kronos, Chris21/iChris, or similar payroll and workforce management platforms.
• Strong analytical and reconciliation skills with a high level of attention to detail.
• The ability to manage competing priorities while maintaining accuracy and meeting deadlines.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
