Job summary

Sharp & Carter is seeking an experienced Payroll Systems Administrator to join a large, well-established organisation undergoing ongoing investment in its people, systems and technology landscape in Melbourne.

In this hybrid role you will maintain and optimise payroll systems, work with Payroll, HR and stakeholders, deliver reporting and data insights, and drive continuous improvement across the payroll landscape.

Qualifications

  • Experience in payroll systems administration or payroll systems support.
  • Exposure to enterprise payroll platforms within large/complex environments.
  • Strong understanding of payroll processes and legislative requirements.
  • Experience supporting system upgrades, testing and enhancement projects.
  • Advanced Excel and reporting capabilities.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
  • Proactive mindset with a continuous improvement focus.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and support payroll system configuration and administration activities.
  • Troubleshoot system-related issues and provide ongoing user support.
  • Assist with testing, upgrades, enhancements and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Produce payroll reporting, data analysis and workforce-related insights.
  • Ensure data integrity, system compliance and best practice processes are maintained.
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders to identify and implement system improvements.
  • Support documentation, process mapping and change management activities.
  • Liaise with external vendors and technology partners where required.

The Opportunity

An excellent opportunity exists for an experienced Payroll Systems Administrator to join a large and well-established organisation undergoing continued investment in its people, systems and technology landscape.

Supporting a complex payroll environment, this role will see you work closely with Payroll, HR and broader business stakeholders to ensure payroll systems are maintained, optimised and continuously improved. This is an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys combining payroll knowledge with systems expertise and is looking to make a genuine impact in a collaborative team environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain and support payroll system configuration and administration activities

About You

To be successful in this position, you will demonstrate:

  • Previous payroll systems administration or payroll systems support experience
  • Exposure to enterprise payroll platforms, ideally within a large or complex environment
  • Strong understanding of payroll processes and legislative requirements
  • Experience supporting system upgrades, testing and enhancement projects
  • Advanced Excel and reporting capabilities
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills
  • A proactive mindset with a continuous improvement focus
