Job summary

UnitingCare Queensland is seeking an experienced payroll professional to lead our Payroll Team across Hospitals, Family and Disability Services and Corporate portfolios. As the Payroll Team Leader, you will oversee end-to-end payroll processing, ensure accuracy, compliance and timely pays, and mentor a team of payroll specialists in a high‑volume, complex environment.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years' experience in payroll in a complex environment.
• Experience leading or mentoring payroll team members.
• Strong knowledge of Awards, Enterprise Agreements and payroll legislation.

Responsibilities

• Provide oversight of end-to-end payroll processing and payroll runs.
• Ensure activities are accurate, timely and compliant with policies and legislation.
• Interpret Awards and Enterprise Agreements and guide the payroll team.
• Manage escalated payroll enquiries and issues.
• Support audits and payroll compliance obligations.
• Lead, coach and develop payroll team members with regular feedback.
• Prioritise workloads to meet service levels.
• Contribute to payroll projects, improvements and system enhancements.
• Build relationships with leaders, employees and stakeholders while maintaining confidentiality.
