Job summary

UnitingCare Queensland is seeking an experienced Payroll Team Leader to oversee end-to-end payroll operations across Hospitals, Family and Disability Services, and Corporate portfolios.

You will lead a team of payroll professionals, ensure pay runs are accurate, compliant and delivered on time, and drive continuous improvement in processes and systems. This is a full-time role with hybrid work by agreement, offering flexible work arrangements and supporting benefits.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years' experience in payroll in a complex environment.
• Experience leading or mentoring payroll staff or readiness to step into a leadership role.
• Strong knowledge of Awards, Enterprise Agreements and payroll legislation.

Responsibilities

• Provide oversight of end-to-end payroll processing and payroll run coordination.
• Ensure payroll activities are accurate, timely, and compliant with policies and legislative requirements.
• Interpret Awards and Enterprise Agreements and guide the payroll team.
• Manage escalated payroll enquiries and issues.
• Support audits and payroll compliance obligations.
• Lead and develop payroll team members with feedback and performance conversations.
• Monitor workloads to meet service levels and contribute to system enhancements.
