Job summary

UnitingCare Brisbane is seeking an experienced payroll Team Leader to oversee end-to-end payroll processing across our Hospitals, Family and Disability Services, and Corporate portfolios. You will lead a team of payroll professionals, ensuring timely, accurate, and compliant payroll outcomes.

The role requires 3–5 years in payroll, leadership experience, strong knowledge of Awards and payroll legislation, and proficiency with Chris21, Aurion, and UKG Pro/Kronos.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years' experience in payroll, including end-to-end processing in a complex environment.
• Experience leading or mentoring payroll team members.
• Strong knowledge of Awards, Enterprise Agreements and payroll legislation.
• Experience with high-volume payroll environments and multiple pay cycles.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Oversee end-to-end payroll processing and ensure timely, accurate runs.
• Lead, coach and develop payroll team members with regular feedback.
• Interpret Awards and Enterprise Agreements and provide guidance on complex scenarios.
• Maintain compliance with policies, procedures and legislative requirements.
• Collaborate with leaders and stakeholders while maintaining confidentiality.
