Job summary

Victorian Infrastructure Delivery Authority – Melbourne VIC is seeking a Specialist, Pavement Engineer to provide authoritative pavement engineering advice across planning, development, procurement, design, construction and handover of major transport projects.

You will lead risk assessments, guide technical submissions to align with Australian and Victorian standards, and represent VIDA as the technical authority with partners and stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Experienced Civil Engineer with a history of pavement design and analysis.
• Advanced understanding of Australian and Victorian pavement design requirements, including national and state standards, guidelines and specifications.
• Strong communication with technical staff and project colleagues; experience representing a road authority or state delivery agency is desirable.
• This opportunity is a 3-year maximum-term.
• Travelling to site offices may be required.

Responsibilities

• Provide authoritative pavement engineering advice and technical assurance across planning, development, procurement, design, construction and handover phases of transport infrastructure projects.
• Lead the assessment of pavement-related technical risks, opportunities and project issues with practical, evidence-based recommendations.
• Influence project outcomes by reviewing designs, departures, specifications and project documentation to align with standards and government objectives.
• Contribute to the development and improvement of VIDA's pavement engineering standards, specifications and governance practices.
• Represent VIDA as a specialist technical authority in engagements with DTP, industry and delivery partners.
