Job summary

AECOM in Australia seeks an experienced Technical Director, Pavements to lead pavement engineering across major infrastructure projects from Sydney to Melbourne. You will shape technical direction, guide design, and mentor teams, leveraging 20+ years' pavement experience.

You will work with multidisciplinary groups, manage risks and budgets, and strengthen client relationships while growing the pavements capability across Australia and New Zealand.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline with 20+ years in pavement engineering.
• Extensive experience in pavement design, evaluation, rehabilitation, materials, and construction.
• Experience delivering pavement projects across aviation, highways, ports, defence or heavy infrastructure.
• Chartered status and RPEQ eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Lead pavement engineering on major infrastructure projects with design and construction oversight.
• Oversee independent technical reviews and ensure design quality.
• Advise clients on pavement challenges and translate findings into recommendations.
• Manage design interfaces, risks, and project delivery with multidisciplinary teams.
• Develop proposals, bids, and grow client relationships.
• Mentor engineers and leaders to build specialist knowledge.
• Contribute to growth of AECOM’s pavements practice within the network.
