Job summary

Bunnings is looking for a Department Manager to oversee daily operations, sales, and high-volume stock in a busy specialist area. You will lead 20+ team members, train and develop staff, and ensure the Best Experience for customers by showcasing the Widest Range and Best Prices.

You will report to the Operations Manager and Complex Manager, with weekend rosters and some public holiday work required. A strong emphasis on safety, team engagement, and KPI tracking is key to success.

Qualifications

• Experience leading large teams in retail and driving safety culture.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Ability to analyse KPIs and improve service experiences.
• Experience with rostering and store operations.
• Willingness to work weekends and public holidays.
• Knowledge of stock control and loss prevention.

Responsibilities

• Lead a 20+ person team to deliver the Best Experience, ensuring engagement and safety.
• Open and close the store across weekdays and weekends as duty manager.
• Coach team on service excellence and safety culture, with clear performance feedback.
• Plan rosters strategically to meet service promises and drive department sales.
• Monitor stock accuracy, replenishment discipline and loss prevention processes.
