Job summary

Optus is seeking a Senior Operational Architect based in Canberra to provide expert technical leadership and ensure architectural integrity for key accounts, especially in Financial Services and Federal Government sectors.

You will design, review, and support complex solutions, bills of materials, and change requests, while mentoring a team across networking, cloud, and customer experience technologies, ensuring high-quality designs and risk management.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in ICT with senior architecture experience.
• 3+ years in pre-sales or embedded architecture roles.
• Proven design of complex managed services and customer proposals.
• Strong business and stakeholder management with executive audiences.
• Tertiary IT or Engineering qualification; industry certifications (Cisco/Juniper/Microsoft).

Responsibilities

• Provide architectural leadership and governance across complex network and managed services environments.
• Lead customer engagement and strategic advisory with stakeholders.
• Design and deliver complex end-to-end solutions including networking, cloud, cyber, and managed services.
• Drive pre-sales and business growth initiatives with Sales, developing value-based solutions.
• Provide senior technical leadership and mentor architects and delivery teams; assist with escalations.
• Collaborate across Optus to deliver commercial outcomes and contribute to revenue growth.
