Mec Technical Services is seeking a Senior Mining Engineer for our Brisbane, QLD team. The role focuses on open pit mining, Life of Mine planning and providing Drill & Blast and planning support across multiple projects.

Ideal candidates have 6+ years of site-based open pit experience, a Mining Engineering degree, and familiarity with Spry and Deswik. Unrestricted Australian working rights are required.

Qualifications

• 6+ years site-based experience in open pit mining.
• Degree in Mining Engineering (recognised in Australia).
• Exposure to different open pit mining methods and approaches.
• Experience with Spry and Deswik (preferred).
• Current unrestricted working rights in Australia.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to Life of Mine planning for a greenfield QLD copper mine.
• Provide Drill and Blast support to a large surface coal operation in NSW.
• Develop short-term plans and optimise haulage costs for a Tier 1 QLD coal operator.
• Work across mine planning and production teams to restart a QLD gold mine.
