Job summary

Regis Resources is seeking an experienced Senior Mining Engineer (Surface Mining) to join the Open Pit Technical Services team in Western Australia. The role leads mine planning, optimises production and drives cost-effective outcomes while working with operations and contractors.

Reporting to the Mine Planning Superintendent, you will guide short- and medium-term plans, mentor engineers and ensure designs deliver safe, efficient results. This is a FIFO 8:6 position from Perth.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in Mining Engineering or similar discipline.
• Experience in a Senior Mining Engineer or similar technical leadership role.
• Significant open pit mining experience, preferably in hard rock gold operations.
• Proficiency with Deswik and related mining software.
• Strong scheduling, drill and blast optimisation and operational planning skills.

Responsibilities

• Leading development and delivery of short and medium-term mine plans to support safe production outcomes.
• Managing rolling mine plans, schedules and forecasts to maximise value.
• Providing technical leadership to Mining Engineers and Graduate Engineers.
• Monitoring contractor performance to align with plans, budgets and targets.
• Reviewing drill and blast designs and fragmentation outcomes.
• Overseeing pit, waste dump, haul road and dewatering designs to meet requirements.
• Identifying opportunities to improve productivity and reduce costs.
• Leading continuous improvement and mining optimisation projects.
• Contributing to budgets, life-of-mine plans and end-of-month reporting.
